Range Rules

Our goal is to make sure all guests have a safe and comfortable experience while using our indoor gun range. To help ensure you have a safe and enjoyable experience, we've created a list of rules and requirements that must be followed at all times.

The Range Rules are designed to keep our clients and staff safe at all times. We will not compromise on safety. Safety is your responsibility.

  1. Always keep muzzle pointed down range.

  2. Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

  3. Keep action open and the firearm unloaded, except when shooting. Load firearms ONLY at the firing line.

  4. Hearing and eye protection are MANDATORY while in/on the range. No Exceptions.

  5. All firearms entering or leaving the range must be unloaded and cased. Exceptions are firearms being legally carried or Law Enforcement. These firearms must remain holstered until the shooter is in the stall and ready to shoot.

  6. No one is allowed inside the range area unless they have read these range rules, signed the liability waiver, and been assigned a lane by KYGUNCO staff. Do not change lanes without first receiving a new lane assignment from the RSO.

  7. No steel core, armor piercing, tracer, steel cased ammunition allowed. Violators will be removed, and no refund given. KYGUNCO may test ammunition shooters bring into the range. If you have questions about your ammo ask the RSO before use! (If it sticks to a magnet, it is not allowed).

  8. Allowed calibers are:

    • Handguns - .17 rimfire through .50 caliber
    • Rifles - .17 rimfire through .375 caliber
    • Shotguns - All gauges, buckshot, slugs and lead birdshot are allowed. Shotguns to be fired from shoulder only

    No steel shot is allowed. Shotguns with pistol grip only are not allowed.

  9. Never hand or pass a firearm to another person. Lay firearm on bench and allow the other shooter to pick up firearm.

  10. Only firing at your target is permitted. Across lane shooting is prohibited.

  11. Two shooters are allowed per lane. Only one person shooting in the lane at a time. All persons entering range will be charged accordingly. Parents with kids see the RSO.

  12. No shooting from the hip, quick draw, holster draw, or fanning the hammer allowed.

  13. Any person suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs will not be permitted to use the range.

  14. You are responsible for any damage to the range or range equipment caused by errant shots, careless or negligent firing. Any person seen firing at lights, baffles, carrier, walls, or any other range equipment will be removed from the range without refund and barred from future use of the range.

  15. Reloaders may recover their own brass from the range provided it is not forward of the firing line. Brass previously left on the range by other shooters is the property of KYGUNCO and is not permitted to be removed. If you plan on collecting your brass let the RSO know.

  16. KYGUNCO reserves the right to refuse service to any individual who, in our judgment, would endanger the safety of our customers, staff, or themselves.

  17. Pregnant women are not allowed. The concussion of gunfire is known to damage the unborn.

  18. When you are finished shooting or your time has expired, unload your gun, pack up your unloaded gun, clean up around your booth by throwing trash in the receptacle provided and by sweeping brass forward of the firing line. Please inform the staff of any equipment that does not appear to be operating properly.

  19. If you experience any problem with a firearm, leave it on the bench in the booth pointed downrange and notify the RSO.

  20. Sandals, flip flops, and open toe shoes are not allowed. Low cut tops and tanks tops are not allowed.

  21. Everyone using the range must be 18 years old or older and is required to know these rules and to sign a liability waiver. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by his or her legal guardian who is always required to supervise the minor while the minor is on the range, and to sign a liability waiver with the minor and on the minor's behalf.

  22. Only ammunition purchased at KYGUNCO will be allowed for rental firearms.

  23. Wash hands after shooting. Ammunition contains lead that may be harmful over a prolonged period.
